Falling through the cracks of both the social justice and educational systems in her youth, with no family support, Heather endured many hardships and plenty of tough lessons in life. She applied her intelligence, street smarts, and tenacious drive to transform from a fourteen year old girl on the streets to the successful woman she is today.
Heather’s strong background over two decades in law enforcement (as a law enforcement officer and detective), allows her to be able to respond appropriately to many situations and has given her a profound ability to professionally deal with all types of people. In addition to her normal job duties prior to retiring, she was involved in providing and conducting a wide variety of training in the public eye, as a business professional, board member, and an adjunct college instructor. She served on the board of several state and countywide law enforcement units, led an Honor Guard Unit, successfully completed SWAT school, and received numerous awards and letters of commendation.
Heather believes in the importance of grace and poise, but also the ability to stand on your own two feet as a woman in today’s society. She has earned her certification to teach etiquette programs through the Emily Post Institute in Vermont and has incorporated her vast work experience in body language and communications as part of her programs.
She is recognized as an expert in her field and has painstakingly worked to create a respected and well-known brand and company. She has put strategies in place that have propelled The Etiquette Seed into the spotlight and expanded to provide services nationwide to such well-known companies/organizations as Oracle, Popular Community Bank, Capgemini, Check on Hold, and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
She takes great pride in her Civility Initiative, meeting and speaking with people nationwide to further civility dialogue, programs, and related legislation. Largely due to her humble beginnings, Heather is very active in the community and has devoted many hours to working with those less fortunate. She participates on various boards and committees. She has lead an adventurous life, traveling extensively and having a wide variety of hobbies. She is married to a wonderful man and has raised a beautiful, caring, successful adult daughter.
