Listen to interview with host Eric Dye & guest Martyn Bould discuss the following:

  • What prompted you to write this book?
  • You’ve lived a life full of adventure, risk, growth, and service. When you look at all of it, what feels like the thread that ties your whole story together?
  • Let’s start with your life in development – You arrived in an island of 10,000 people and helped usher it into a thriving, multicultural financial center of 80,000 people, to the point that you were honored by the Queen of England for your foundational efforts for the Cayman cultural preservation and development. What values guided your decisions during those early years of Cayman’s transformation?
  • Entrepreneurship is often romanticized. What was the real emotional terrain – the challenges, the turning points, the quiet personal battles?
  • The praise for your book from senior members of the Cayman society highlights your integrity, kindness, courage, and devotion to service – Many of your friends and close associates say they have always known you that way. How did you stay steady in moments when leadership required difficult or unpopular decisions or What internal code have you lived by no matter the decade, the location, or the circumstance?
  • One of your greatest gifts is the ability to remember people, connect them, and keep them close. Where did that instinct come from and what has community given you that ambition alone, never could?
  • You’ve crossed continents and cultures for decades. What did global travel and philanthropy teach you about humanity that everyday life cannot?
  • Out of everywhere you’ve traveled, was there a country or moment that shifted something fundamental in how you see the world?
  • Your adventures with Vivian span 120 countries and almost half a century. What kept your partnership strong through so many chapters of growth, risk, and reinvention?
  • What advice would you give younger couples building a life together while building dreams at the same time?
  • When you look back at the risks you took – both professionally and physically – which ones shaped your character the most?
  • If someone listening feels they are standing at the bottom of their own mountain right now – unsure, overwhelmed, or starting again – what would you tell them?
