Trung K Vu was born in Vietnam in 1968 during the Vietnam war. His father was a very successful and influential man, a self-made millionaire. But their life turned upside down when they fled Vietnam in 1975 during the fall of Saigon. Thousands of people including Trung and his family survived and were rescued by the US Navy.
Growing up in America was both a blessing and a challenge for him. For most of his life they were dependent on food stamps and welfare. His father was wounded during the war and became blind-so he couldn’t work. His mother sewed for a clothing company to support the family and to put foods on the table. His mother was a strong will woman who taught him to get good grades, strive for success and to never give up. His mom is the important person in his life.
Trung graduated from the University of Maryland with a double degree in Finance and Marketing with a minor in Economics. In 1997, he became a very successful wealth advisor and was featured in the Washington Post Magazine and eventually became an award-winning screenwriter. Throughout his life, he struggled to make money and be happy. He always wanted more and to be more. Even though he was successful, he was still unhappy. He listened to renowned success motivational speakers but he felt it wasn’t enough so he took a more spiritual view of the world through Eckhart Tolle and other spiritual leaders.
He realized that life is a balance between the physical world and the spiritual world. Life is not black or white; there has to be a balance. We are here to contribute to the world and live life to the fullest. Trung wrote the international best-selling book “How to Set Your Sail and Let God Provide the Wind: How to Work with God to Create a Life of Success and Happiness and to Reach Your Goals with Ease” to guide us through our journey of life and beyond. We will be able to find our purpose, reach our goals, and to live a happy and fulfilled life that we only dreamt of. We will realize that there is a force in the universe that controls everything, and that force is God.
