A Conversation with ViaHero CEO, Greg Buzulencia

Greg Buzulencia, CEO of ViaHero, a peer-to-peer travel platform where travelers hire locals to plan personalized trips joins Enterprise Radio.

This episode of Enterprise Radio is working in association with the Travel Channel.

Listen to host Eric Dye & guest Greg Buzulencia discuss the following:

  1. Tell me a bit about ViaHero. What makes it different from other peer-to-peer travel sites on the market?
  2. What trends or needs are you seeing amongst new generations of travelers these days and how does ViaHero work to address these needs?
  3. What are some key changes you’ve seen in the travel industry during the last five years? What do you attribute this to?
  4. As a veteran of successful start-ups, what are some lessons you’ve learned since starting your companies? What do you attribute your success to?
  5. If you could give one form of advice to young entrepreneurs, what would it be?

Greg Buzulencia is the thoughtful journeyman at the helm of ViaHero. You can often find him traversing over mountains, climbing waterfalls, or crossing vast terrains seemingly divided by sharp contrasts. Greg enjoys traveling beyond assumptions. He believes in going there.

A veteran of successful start-ups, as ViaHero’s CEO he oversees a network of travelers and Heroes with a common goal of bridging the gap between the foreign and the familiar through the mechanics of friendship.

Always curious about cultures other than his own, he began working in the travel industry as a teen and then took to the hobby of planning trips for friends. In his own travels from Cuba to Korea, or crossing the country via train in the US or in Iran, he’s learned to share the value of curiosity and confidence. He works to connect others to the rhythm in the idiosyncrasies of transit systems that seems stubbornly inexact. He welcomes the clandestine routes that lead to corner stands with the freshest fruit and smiling faces. He believes in every mile traveled long and far that ends up at a bar on the other side of the world, where instant friends are made and preconceived notions are shattered over a night of arm wrestling tournaments and a spontaneous sing-a-long of American Pie.
