5 Ways to Celebrate Food

If you’re like most people, then you love food. Food is necessary to survival, but there’s a reason that we don’t eat tasteless gray energy bars at every meal. Instead of consuming food out of necessity alone, we’ve made a spectacle and an adventure out of it. Food, when properly prepared, is an experience in and of itself, and there are a hundred ways to celebrate a love of food. For now, we’re going to explore five of them.

Food Tours

A new form of excitement, food tours have started to be a regular activity in every major city. Typically, you hop on a bus with a bunch of other people, and you drive around from site to site, sampling the best of what the city has to offer. Often, food tours are themed, like “Chocolate” and “Pizza.” If you want to sample some of the best selections in any major city, a food tour is probably the perfect adventure for you.

Flavorings

We don’t just celebrate food with food. We celebrate it with things we can’t even eat. There are plenty of food-scented items, like cinnamon roll-scented candles, and strawberry-scented shampoo. It seems that wherever we go, we want things to remind us of food. Even Ejuice or e-liquid, the base for e-cigarettes and vapes, now comes in food flavors. As soon as we found a way to replace cigarette-smoke taste with chocolate chip cookie taste, we did it.

Food Photography

Some people find this one… a little weird. And while you should probably spare your Facebook friends from having to look at a plate of mashed potatoes, food as art is often worth snapping a photo of. In fact, food photography has become such a big deal that it’s changing the way we prepare meals. Rather than dumping our dinners onto our plates, we’re starting to arrange them. Art is, in essence, a tribute to a thing or idea, so making art out of your food is a tribute… to your food. Since a life full of art is an improved life, this is one trend that’s dong zero harm.

Cooking From Scratch

Many Americans content themselves with cheap dinners–the kind that come out of a cardboard box. To truly celebrate the wonder that is food, try to cook more meals from scratch. Cooking can be a relaxing, engaging activity, from chopping fresh garlic to sprinkling garnish on top of the finished meal. The end result will be healthier, taste better, and fill you with pride.

Exploring the World

You can go from Thailand to India to Italy for under a hundred dollars, all in one week. How? With food, of course. A cuisine tour of the world will inspire your taste buds and get you scheming about new recipe ideas. No matter how long you live, there will always be a taste you haven’t tried, and since just about every recipe on earth is available online, you can start experiencing new flavors each and every day.
