5 Steps to Successful Culture Change in the Workplace

Jason Richmond, Founder and Chief Culture Officer at Ideal Outcomes, Inc. and author of the book “Culture Spark: 5 Steps to Ignite and Sustain Organizational Growth” joins Enterprise Radio.

This episode of Enterprise Radio is in association with the Author Channel.

Listen to host Eric Dye & guest Jason Richmond discuss the following:

  1. Let me start by asking you what inspired you to write your book “Culture Spark: 5 Steps to Ignite and Sustain Organizational Growth.” What did you set out to achieve by writing it?
  2. In the book, you share your own take on what corporate culture is. I really like how you describe it. It makes so much sense to me. Could you read that definition?
  3. Early in the book you write: “These five issues – complacency, disconnection to values and disconnected values, ego, misaligned processes, and micromanagement – lead to the big one: a company culture teeming with disengaged employees. And this is an international predicament that needs to be resolved.” How pervasive is employee disengagement today? What can an organization do to avoid becoming a victim of these five issues and prevent creating a culture of disengaged employees?
  4. Leaders play a vital role in the creation of an organization’s culture. How they model the desired behaviors and demonstrate their values is key to shaping the culture and sustaining it. How do you think about the role that leaders play in creating a culture? What are some of the critical traits of leaders who are good at this?
