The Benefits of Blogging

bg_ygil

I think that one of the great things about the internet is that anyone who has an opinion can openly say it through blogs, forums and social media. But while these tools are great sounding boards for just the average Joe, even me, a Rocklin dentist, they are also a powerful tool for a dental practice as well. Specifically, blogging is something that dental companies should greatly consider if they look to boost their online presence and gain some exposure for their brand. Here is some insight into blogging and why it’s so important for a business to do, as well as the benefits that can come from it.

More Website Traffic
The more often that your website name is out there, the more likely that people are going to stumble across it. When you blog, this is an opportunity to do just that and link your website name whenever you write on something. And while you may not be able to get every single new visit to turn into a paying customer, any increase in business is something you likely wouldn’t have had if it wasn’t for getting your website name out there through blogging. Then, make sure to get customers to give reviews of your business. Furthermore, if you are yet to be ranked high enough in SEO, then you may be able to rely on blogs to get more recognition. For example, if a blog ranks high on SEO and a viewer comes across it, then you are able to piggyback off the success and views that the blog gets.

Build Authority
No matter what businesses you are in, building your authority is key to get leads to turn into actual paying customers. People want to think that you know what you are talking about, as it makes them feel more comfortable with relying on your services. The more that you can get your name out there with blogging, the greater authority you look to be in the eyes of the readers. If you want people to believe and trust in you and what you say, then blogging is a great way to build a reputation as a reputable source for information.

Turn Traffic Into new patients
As mentioned earlier, more blogging typically means more traffic to your site. But keep in mind that it’s not just about getting those people to your site, but rather turning them into leads for your dental business. Once a visitor comes to your site, that is half the battle. Now you just have to get them interested enough to take further action into inquiring about your business. You can consider giving things away on your site or having forms that they can fill out to make it quick and convenient for them. Or you can just list your phone number and email which makes it easier for them to contact you. Most often the difficult part is getting people to find your site and get there. However, once they are there you have the chance to turn that general traffic into solid leads, and even paying customers.

It Lasts
Unlike a TV or print ad, blogging lasts. The content and comments that are put online are going to be there for as long as the thread is there, meaning that people could potentially come across your posts months, or even years, down the road. When you think about it, this is one of the longest lasting methods of advertising, and all it takes is for you to blog about your business.

Blogging is a great way for people to express themselves. However, businesses that blog can also maximize their online efforts as well. Be sure to consider why blogging is so important the next time you are trying to think of a way to get your brand name out there.
