David Stern is the President and founder of Precise Corporate Staging, leading provider of technical solutions to the special events and entertainment industry. David’s career path in the entertainment industry started in his teens. At only 14 years of age, David was already working with local bands in schools and at CYO dances.
Passionate about making his events stand out above the rest, he quickly started learning about lighting, sound and musical instruments without even knowing that he was setting the stage for his own career later in life.
At the age of 19, David started touring with top national and international acts such as Frankie and the Knockouts, Joe Lynn Turner and Meatloaf. He built his expertise by working in diverse technical and tour support positions that over the years ranged from Lighting Director, Stage Manager, Road Manager, to Keyboard, Drums and Guitar Technician.
In 1984, David was hired as Keyboard Technician for Bon Jovi, world tour. David continued to tour for the next five years with Bon Jovi, Van Halen and the Scorpions. He continued building his expertise in design and maintenance of electronic systems as Technician and Engineer.
In late 1989 David decided it was time to stop the world travels and touring with bands. He turned his expertise and his career to the corporate audio/visual field.
Starting as a technician at the Breakers hotel in 1990, David was quickly promoted to Manager of the audio visual department. In his new management position, David used his talents to focus on business development and drove the corporate sales from $350,000 to $750,000 in just one short year.
At the end of 1992 David was recruited by a major national audio visual company to run a high-profile resort in south Florida, The Turnberry. The company was AVA with its headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona. David was soon promoted to Branch Manager and immediately added major accounts and increased annual sales from $475,000 to $1,200.000 in less than one year.
In 1994 David was given the opportunity to work for a national productions house and the biggest production company in Florida, Multi Image Group. David was hired as Warehouse Manager and soon moved into a sales position. Continuing his impeccable record of increasing sales, David quickly became the leading salesperson by growing his sales to $3.8 million per year. He was named Senior Vice President.
In 1998 David and his family moved to Phoenix, Arizona and David took a position as Vice President of National Sales for A.V. Concepts in Tempe, Arizona.
David was brought in to raise the visibility of A.V. Concepts on the national stage and attract more business outside of Arizona. In his first year David was able to bring over substantial amount of new business to A.V. Concepts.
In April of 2000 David and his wife, Marla Stern, felt that the market was ready for company that put quality equipment and customer service first. They both felt that their industry was falling into a rut with poor equipment and sub-standard support.
Aimed with over 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry, David and Marla Stern founded Precise Corporate Staging in July of 2000.
Over the last two decades they’ve grown the company to become a powerhouse in providing technical solutions to the special events and entertainment industry. With expertise in real staging, tour support and live event production and with offices in Phoenix and Atlanta, Georgia – Precise Corporate Staging excels at designing sound, video and lighting systems for all types of event venues for all sizes of audiences on a World-Wide basis.
With clients ranging from Rock USA and Country USA to corporate events, David has lead the company to take pride in its industry relationships, its client-service focused philosophy and its paramount equipment.
Part of David’s leadership is a strong focus on quality, ensuring that his team invests in research that precedes all purchase decisions, ensuring that every piece of equipment is always able to meet the needs of the most demanding customers.
