Knowing the right time to make a technology investment in your business

Dave Davenport

Dave Davenport, CEO of Mother G, which provides IT managed services joins Enterprise Radio to discuss how to know the right time to make a technology investment in your business.

Listen to interview with host Eric Dye & guest Dave Davenport discuss the following:

  • What elements should factor into a business owner’s decision to upgrade their technology aside from the cost?
  • Is this a strategic issue that drives the business and technology needs?
  • Why does starting with a strategy and vision make a difference?
  • How can a company best manage its technology so it becomes a strong business investment?
  • How do you initiate a conversation with your IT partner, and what questions should be addressed?

Dave Davenport founded MotherG in 2006 with the belief that no business should accept inferior technology when it is so critical to effective business operations.  This is even more true today. Under Dave’s leadership, MotherG has perfected its Light-Switch Technology model which delivers the highest value in managed services in Chicagoland.  MotherG has been recognized as an Inc. 5000 Fastest Growing Business for several consecutive years, and has also been awarded the No. 1 Best Place to Work in Illinois.

Dave is a super-competitive guy who believes that anything that can be a race is fun. Notably, he enjoys racing sailboats and does so most weekends when the lakes are not frozen.

Otherwise, you can find him golfing or traveling with his family. He loves to cook and is always willing to entertain a group. He even fires up the grill at the office! If there was a contest for most creative usage of metaphors, he would be the gold medalist! (Seriously- ask anyone!)

Before MotherG, Dave was VP of Sales for TransTech IT Staffing and VP of Marketing for BancTec. Dave graduated with an MIS degree from University of South Florida, and an MBA from University of Chicago.
