Brisbane mum, Cinnamon Morrissey, is the founder of EveryMite and EveryOrganics. Cinnamon created EveryMite over a three year period in her kitchen for her son, William. Cinnamon has since launched EveryOrganics’ with the goal of to making life easier for people with a food allergy or intolerance to help you and your loved ones “smile every day”.
1. Tell our audience how you came to launch EveryOrganics, after such success with EveryMite?
I absolutely love what I have done with EveryMite and I am so proud of it, but it is only one of the things I make at home that (I think) is delicious and benefits our lives. EveryOrganics enables me to share even more of the beautiful products we use at home with everyone too.
Since having a child with so many sensitivities and health needs, I have discovered that clean, wholesome, nutrient dense food and products are absolutely vital.
As we have given him clean food from the start, we are lucky that he will eat almost anything I give him. However, I totally understand that this is a real struggle for many parents out there who are trying to convert their families over to a more wholesome diet when they may have been eating a high processed diet.
That’s why I believe that my new range is so important, as it is clean, wholesome, quality products that you can add to your everyday diet to give it a bit more extra taste and nutrition.
The range will be expanding next year with some more beautiful food products. I will also be updating and expanding my body and home range.
2. What are you most passionate about as an entrepreneur running both brands?
- Educating families on what is ‘real food’ and seeing more children being raised on a cleaner diet as a result. And;
- Making life easier for families every day to switch over to additive free wholesome foods by sharing my products with as many people as I can.
3. What recipe on the EveryOrganics website do you think everyone needs to try at least once?
There are so many good recipes on my site that have been created by people in the community, and I have just shared these to help inspire everyone.
I really like the salad that uses my smoked products.
Until recently I never used salt and pepper on my salad. However, I have started using our smoked salt and pepper on every salad, and have been using some of our smoked oil in the salad dressing and OMG these are the best salads as a result!
I also fry up some tofu and chicken, with some camel milk haloumi and various seeds in our smoked honey. I then add that whilst still warm to the salad, and its amazing!
4. What advice do you have for others who are looking to enter the health/organic foods space?
Take small steps.
Each step along the way I have been very cautious as I didn’t know what I was doing (and still don’t sometimes!!). I needed to make sure that every decision was the right one, and if it wasn’t- that there would not be a significant issue as a result, like someone getting ill due to getting something wrong with the product, or us losing money because I had to pull stock off shelves etc if something was not done right.
And, Believe in yourself
I was told many times as a woman new to business that I would not make it.
I have, and I am, and it’s the best thing I ever did.
I love seeing people now try my EveryOrganics range and be hooked on that too.
We honestly eat our smoked products every day at home, and seeing others enjoy them too makes me smile
5. What do you believe will be the biggest trend in your industry for 2022?
I don’t follow trends. I follow what tastes good and feels good for me.
I suspect that clean wholesome foods that boost the immunity may be a focus given the current world climate we are in.
