Monica Badlani, Partner and COO of Sōmrus Cream Liqueurs, was drawn to the opportunity to help build a global spirits brand inspired by the rich culinary heritage of India. Being of Indian descent herself, she is passionate about making the beautiful and hospitable culture of India more accessible to consumers worldwide.
Monica was previously a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, engaged in a variety of initiatives for financial services clients including setting growth and e-commerce strategies, brokering joint ventures, and spearheading product innovation.
Currently living in Chicago, Monica supports charities including The Albany Park Theater Project, Doctors Without Borders, and Children of Restaurant Employees (CORE; the latter of which Sōmrus also supports corporately).
She is also a fellow member of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and collects contemporary art.
Monica received her Bachelor of Science (B.S) in Mathematics from University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and was a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries before her shift to management consulting and brand building.
