Portia Kersten is the Chief Financial Officer of Skout, the largest global platform for meeting new people and expanding your social circle. The Andreessen Horowitz-backed company is headquartered in San Francisco.

Portia is a serial start-up CFO with more than 10 years of experience working in close partnership with founders and CEOs to develop sustainable business models, manage growth, and lead organizations toward metric-driven goals.  Her experience spans all stages of a startup’s evolution from capital raising and scaling to successful exits.

Portia has also held positions in Corporate Development at PlanetOut, principal investing at GE Capital and various technical roles at Bechtel Civil, Corp. She holds an MBA from Columbia University, and an MS and a BA from The Ohio State University.

Portia also writes music, is an avid guitar player and relishes finding new hiking trails. When she’s not busy with other pursuits, she enjoys quiet time at home with her husband and their beloved cat, Simo.
