Once you’ve grown past the age of clubbing and bar crawls, you start to appreciate the whole shebang of house parties. It’s comfortable and convenient. There’s no need to put on outrageously high heels or stand in the cold to get into a club. What’s not to love? You get to have quality fun with your friends without having to go through the aftermath of a messy night out.

Throwing a memorable party is a skill and lack of proper planning can make it a snooze fest. Lucky for you, we’re sharing our professional tips to throw the ultimate house party. Let’s get to work.

1. Arrange adequate seating

You need to rearrange your living room to make it a more social space. Spread out the furniture so there’s enough room to move around and dance. If you just have a couch, get a couple of pouffes and floor cushions to create additional seating.

2. Install mood lighting

Stark, bright lights don’t make a party feel like a party. Turn off the overhead light and create the perfect ambience with a mixture of soft lights. Use candles, table lamps, fairy lights and low-wattage bulbs. And if you want to spice things up, get a disco light!

3. Prep food and drinks

Don’t wait till the last second to decide the food and drinks menu. If you’re planning to cook, then start prepping at least the night before.

Our suggestion would be to buy premade and frozen snacks that barely take any time. Instead of keeping everything in the kitchen, place snack platters in different spots to encourage mingling.

4. Set up a self-serving bar

Unless you want to spend the night bartending, set up a self-serving bar. Get club soda, cold drinks, juices, ice, olives, a shaker, stirrers and water. Even if your guests are bringing their own alcohol, it’s a good idea to get a couple of extra bottles in case they run out.

5. Entertainment

Unfortunately, riveting conversations aren’t enough for a successful house party. Prepare a party playlist that will set the tone for the night. You can take the fun to the next level with party games.

From card games such as Cards Against Humanity to online casinos games, you have a wide selection to pick from. A number of new Nektan casinos are available to play at MobileCasinoKings, plus their new website makes signing up so easy!

6. Prepare cloakroom & bathrooms

Assign one room or closet as the cloakroom where guests can keep their coats and bags.

Take out time to tidy your house and clean your bathrooms. Make sure it is well-equipped with soap, toilet paper and hand towels.

7. Invite your neighbours

Imagine having a loud party next door when you have to wake up early the next day. Instead of pushing your neighbours to complain about the noise, ask them to join the party. It’s also a great way to get to know them.

If you don’t want to invite them, at least inform them ahead of time.

8. Ask your core group to arrive early

Rather than doing it all yourself, ask your core group of friends to arrive early. They can help you set up and get the party started.

9. Place napkins & bins

Is it even a party if someone doesn’t spill their drink? Make sure you get plenty of napkins and paper towels. Also, place a couple of garbage bins to keep the mess under control.

 10. Specify timing

While it’s obvious to specify the time of arrival on the invites, our unconventional tip is also mentioning the end time. This will prompt guests to arrive on time.

We hope these tips make your house party the talk of the town. Good luck!
