Richmond native Aaron Smith is a celebrated author, media luminary, radio host, entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and financial expert with over 20 years of experience. His clients include individuals, business owners, and professional athletes.

Mr. Smith has appeared or been featured in numerous national and regional media outlets to include: Black Enterprise, The NAIFA’s Advisor, Ebony, The Register, The Atlanta Post, Investment News, USA Today, Inside Business, the Richmond Free Press, The Richmond Times Dispatch, Financial Advisor, Dow Jones NewsWire and the Wall Street Journal. Aaron has also appeared as a frequent guest on the ABC affiliate, WRIC-8 and the CBS affiliate WTVR 6. He has also appeared on NPR, “Money Wisdom for Women” international radio cast and was featured on NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams. Smith has a weekly radio show, The Aaron Smith Show, which he hosts live in Washington DC.

His first book, In the Black: Live Faithfully, Prosper Financially—The Ultimate 9-Step Plan for Financial Fitness, was published in 2009 by Harper Collins. Smith is a contributing author to 65 Things To Do When You Retire published in 2012.

Mr. Smith has delivered financial education and training for myriad public and private organizations to include the Richmond Police Department, Genworth Financial, Inc., the U.S. Navy, and numerous branches of the Federal Government. He has also addressed the Black Caucus, Washington D.C., SBC Bank USA, New York, NY; Bethel AME Church, Baltimore, Maryland; and 100 Black Men Annual Conference NY, NY. In February, 2012, Smith delivered the keynote address at Virginia State University for the Black Executive Exchange Program started by the National Urban League.

Mr. Smith earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Richmond, with a major in sociology and a minor in economics. At the University of Richmond he was a four-year letterman in football as a running back.
