Seymour Segnit, the co-founder of thingCHARGER, the “awesome new charger for all your things” that in January became the No. 1 crowdfunded mobile accessory of all time. Last week the company went back for its second round of funding and we’re finding out why here on this episode of Enterprise Radio.
Listen to interview with host Eric Dye & guest Seymour Segnit discuss the following:
- Please tell us the background behind thingCHARGER and why you decided to fund it through crowdfunding.
- Why are you doing another crowdfunding campaign?
- How is this campaign different?
- What are some of your main suggestions you recommend inventors do to conduct a successful crowdfunding campaign?
- What have you learned along the way that might help others as they bring a product to market
Seymour Segnit, born in London but currently residing in New York with his wife and daughter, is the founder and inventor of thingCHARGER, the awesome new charger for all your things. thingCHARGER is the #1 all time crowdfunded mobile accessory, having raise nearly $650,000 on Indiegogo. The product, currently under development, will plug into traditional outlets and enables ANY mobile device to be charged on top. Its unique design eliminates the multiple wires generally needed to charge multiple mobile devices while blending into the look and feel of the home.
After attending the Westminster School – in the shadow of Westminster Abbey and Britain’s Houses of Parliament – and Oxford University, Segnit worked in advertising and broadcasting, before co-founding a venture-funded technology company in Silicon Valley, California. He and his wife Amy first launched thingCHARGER on Indiegogo in October 2013.
