Chris Barney has more than 20 years experience in data communications and is the Vice President of Sales at Red Sky Solutions.  In this position he is responsible for business development and overall sales growth at Red Sky Solutions. Barney has built a sales team that is relentlessly driving into new geographies while providing customers with the best-of-breed solutions that only the company’s top partners can provide. Under Barney’s direction, the sales team works in lock-step with its engineering arm to provide new solutions and support existing IT infrastructure to maximize the return on its customers IT budgets.
Over the course of his career Barney has held various positions from Engineer/Sales Executive, to VP of Sales. He still really enjoys the technical aspects of his job, and feels that the technical detail and experience have made him a better sales professional. He truly enjoys interacting with his clients and prospects and counts many as friends. Barney is an expert in all areas of design and implementation from enterprise to service provider needs. He has strong relationships with clients and a true desire to always do right by everyone. He says it’s not always easy… but he tries hard. He enjoys high tech sales/engineering and driving both the top and bottom lines, while providing the best possible solutions.
Outside of work, Barney is married and has a son and daughter. In his spare time he enjoys golf and traveling. Barney is also a Marine and served eight years of active duty, including two tours of duty in the Far East, Middle East, and a number of other tours. He attainted the rank of Sergeant and was a heavy machine gunner for seven years before moving into data communications his last year in the Marine Corps which began his interest and career in IT.
