Your air conditioning system brings comfort to the employees and clients in your office. Moreover, it helps cool down computers and other machines that may be at risk of overheating if the temperature is too hot. With proper maintenance, it can last for an extended period. However, like any other things, there will come a time that it will require replacement. Here are some of the signs that it’s time to replace your AC system.

It has difficulties cooling all areas

An efficiently working air conditioner will not have problems cooling your space or achieving the thermostat setting. If your AC unit is not running as cold as before, it takes time to cool the area, or it cannot cool the entire office or building or part of it, then it means that there is something wrong with the system. It could be an issue with the thermostat or some part of the unit that may require a repair or some kind of maintenance. However, it can also be a sign of a bigger problem that may require commercial air conditioning replacement.

The constant need for repair

It’s normal for appliances, including air conditioners to break down or have issues in the long run. After all, they are prone to natural wear and tear. However, if yours always requires repair even after being serviced within a short period, replacement may be the best choice. The money that you will spend on the constant repair will pile up. You will also experience inconvenience and discomfort in the workplace without a properly working air conditioner.

Increase in the electric bill

If you utilize the same amount of energy but your electric bill increases, it’s another common sign that your AC unit needs replacement. An air conditioner that doesn’t run efficiently will take up more electricity to run because it will have difficulties cooling the area. New models are more energy-efficient, so you will start to see your electric bill go down after installing one.

Moisture and leaks in the unit

Moisture is normal in air conditioners. However, when it is too much, it means that there is an issue with your AC system. Leaks are also other signs of problems. A problem on the refrigerant could cause it. It can cause mould and mildew to grow, which can pose a danger in the health of the employees and everyone around the office. See if a repair will still fix the concern, but if not, you may need to consider replacing the unit.

It’s an old unit

Air conditioners have their end of life. Most units can last for around 10 to 15 years, depending on how they are maintained. If your AC is around this age and you see that it is no longer working properly as before, it may be time to upgrade to a new model.

Unusual noises coming from the system

If you hear noises coming from your AC unit, get professional service right away. It could be caused by broken parts that may still be able to work through repair or by replacing that defective part. If things get worse, it may lead to air conditioning replacement.

If you need to replace your AC system, make sure that you get the right size that will effectively cool the area and one that is energy efficient to save on your electric bill.
