Prepare Your Host to Introduce You Properly

1. Select the person who will introduce you.
2. Talk with your introducer. Determine whether he/she will remain for the entire program.
3. Tell your introducer that you will send a brief written introduction.
4. Write and send an introduction which establishes your credentials.
5. Make a follow up phone call confirming she received your introduction.
6. Bring an extra copy of the introduction to the event.
7. As you and the introducer talk on the way into the meeting hall, thank the person again for doing so.
8. Have an appropriate remark ready to thank this person in your first comments.
