Almost fourteen years ago, a twenty one year old Samuel Levin was working as a bartender at TGI Fridays. Today Levin’s cocktail days are behind him and he’s leading MavenWire, a top provider of consulting, hosting, training and application development in the Supply Chain and Logistics Industry. When companies need to optimize and utilize software to ship and track goods efficiently, they call Levin and his team. Levin’s career path started with an unexpected push from one his Temple University fraternity brothers, who stopped by the bar where Levin worked and served up an opportunity for a job interview. The company in question was an up-and-coming firm that was developing transportation management software. Levin knew nothing about the logistics industry, but after closing the bar he took to the Internet to cram for the interview the next day.
Within hours of the interview, Levin had a job offer. Prior to co-founding MavenWire LLC, Levin served in a variety of roles at G-Log Inc., (Global Logistics Technologies, acquired by Oracle Corporation in 2005), including Technical Consultant, Senior Functional Consultant, and Project Manager. While implementing G-Log’s award winning GC3 Supply Chain Management solution, Levin has had the opportunity to work in virtually every logistics vertical including CPG, Automotive, 3PL/4PL, Manufacturing, and International Freight Forwarding. These roles and experiences have developed Levin’s expertise in providing successful software development, software implementations, and logistics strategy, and have developed Levin as one of the most knowledgeable, well respected and totally Customer-focused solution providers in the transportation management industry.
Using his strong sense of client need and overall understanding of the Oracle Transportation Management (OTM) application, Levin joined forces with colleague and friend Chris Plough to form MavenWire LLC in early 2006, in order to supply a breadth of both functional and technical knowledge to the OTM community—today a global company with locations in America, EMEA and APAC.
