William Jewell The Roatan Water Project SOURCE Global-2

William Jewell, Founder of the Roatan Water Project – which is a project that aims to reduce plastic waste by installing a 10-hydropanel system in a school in Roatan, Honduras joins the Green Business Podcast.

William saw a need for fresh, sustainable drinking water on the island of Roatan, Honduras. Working with SOURCE Global and it’s water creation technology, William was able to secure installation of water-creating Hydropanels for a local school.  This interview looks at how a teenager identifies a critical social impact need and most importantly, creates a solution.

Listen to host Eric Dye & guest William Jewell discuss the following:

  1. First of all, what brought you to Roatan and the realization that there was a lack of access to fresh, sustainable drinking water?
  2. I understand that public benefit corporation, SOURCE Global, was the solution you selected to help bring water to the island.  Can you tell us more about why this company was a good fit for your initiative?
  3. The Roatan Bilingual School was the recipient of the Hydropanels and water access.  Can you tell us how your initiative impacted the school and what the children and faculty’s reaction was?
  4. Access to fresh drinking water is critical, but were there other impacts from the project that were important that you’d like to share?
  5. What are your next steps for this project – and are there other equally remarkable social impact goals in your future?

17-year old William Jewell is the Founder of the Roatan Water Project, which is a project that aims to reduce plastic waste by installing a 10-hydropanel system in a school in Roatan. The initiative has raised over $50,000 to help bring additional sustainable water creation resources to Roatan.  The Roatan Water Project is using SOURCE Global hydropanels, which deliver a renewable water technology that uses the sun to extract drinking water from the air.  People can donate to support the Roatan Water Project through this site here.
