Safepact.com was created in 2011 in Indianapolis, IN by Doug McCright and has since relocated its corporate headquarters to Gulf Shores, AL. Safepact benefits homeowners who are doing home improvement projects and the contractor doing the work, by holding the funds for the project in a safe and secure trust account until the project is completed to the homeowners satisfaction in order to prevent theft and fraud from either side.
Safepact.com also allows a contract to be uploaded to their site and provides an archived and secure messaging system in order to have proof of agreements made between the parties; the site also features a blog and resource center so consumers can get information such as what to look for in a contractor, or tips and tricks to prevent contractor fraud. Because Safepact is an online company, their business is national in scope and can be used by homeowners and contractors throughout the country.
