How to Speak When Producing Videos
with Dr. Bill Lampton
Here are several tips from my own experience:
- Let your message come not from a written script, but from an outline of major points.
- Don’t use teleprompters. Rely on your notes occasionally.
- Write your major points on a steno pad in large letters.
- Scotch Tape your notes to a point on the tripod just underneath the camera.
- When beginning your video, make sure you smile.
- Speak faster than you normally would.
- Gesture as you would in a normal conversation.
- Keep a conversational tone.
- Have somebody else watch your video production.
