Life as a solopreneur can be thrilling and exciting, but also exhausting. You are in complete control of your business, a creative whirlwind driving towards constant success…but you are also human and in need of a break!

But while vacationing as a solopreneur can be very different to taking holiday in more traditional industries, it is absolutely possible and even recommendable to do so! Burning out from stress or exhaustion will have a far more detrimental effect on your business than a couple of weeks off, after all!

So if you have been eyeing a cruise from New York City or an all-inclusive Caribbean beach trip and wondering how to go about packing your bags, take a look at the tips below and take a little time just for you!

Research

Before you start planning your vacation, you’ll need to gather data on when is the best time to be away from your desk. Every industry has its busy times and its slower seasons, and however hectic your job is there will be times of the year when you just don’t have so much going on. Take a look over your workloads from past years, work out when you are busy and when you are freer, and plan your time off accordingly!

Automate

These days, technology has evolved to a point where there are a huge number of tasks that can be automated. Using AI and machine learning you can automate email responses, sales funnels, and a number of everyday repetitive tasks, to ensure that your business processes can keep ticking over even if you aren’t around to manage them. You might even find that automation can help streamline your business and boost productivity when you aren’t on vacation as well!

Notify

Most importantly of all, let your regular clients know that you are going to be off-grid for a while. We know that you might be completely indispensable, but even the hardest taskmasters will understand the need for a little R&R, and as long as they know when you will be back and how to contact you in an emergency, everything will be fine!

Now, all you have to do is pick your destination and enjoy yourself!
