Coffee as a morning routine

The ancient texts speak of people with divine powers. You know, the power to wake up fresh, drink a kale-spinach-avocado smoothie, jog 5 miles and then go to work, smiling and relaxed. On foot, of course.

The rest of us need coffee to function. Or not to end up in jail.

Why include coffee in your morning routine

The caffeine

Well, the first motive is caffeine. Fun fact: Caffeine is the most consumed legal drug worldwide. It wakes us up and gets us ready for long working hours. The caffeine usually kicks 30-45 minutes after the first sip of your coffee, so you can start your day as sharp as a tack.

The milk

Not a fan of the black, bitter cup of joe? Include milk in your morning coffee and treat your palate with a foamy cappuccino, milky latte, or exotic Vietnamese coffee. Not a fan of lactose? The choice of non-dairy products has never been better – oat, coconut, hemp, almond, or any other form of plant-based milk, you name it.

The company

Modern life got us Netflix, crypto, and the ability to order stuff from Amazon. It also made people feel lonely and always in a hurry for something. Well, a cup of coffee before work, with your spouse, parrot, or your colleagues, is a great way to start a day with few kind words and feeling accepted.

Can you include coffee in your morning routine?

Are you an early bird, or do you brush teeth on the go while screaming Taxi! Taxi! and panicking because you are late again?

Making coffee at home – you got up on time

  • If you wake up early, you are in for a treat. Get yourself a coffee maker with a grinder and enjoy freshly brewed coffee every morning. Espresso, French Press, percolator…pick your favorite. Nothing beats freshly ground beans.
  • If your morning time is carefully wagered, pre-ground coffee is not a that bad option. Sure, it doesn’t come near freshly ground beans. However, if you need your coffee ASAP, it will do, especially with drip coffee makers.
  • Instant coffee or coffee pods are also a good solution for morning multitaskers. Water can boil while you find your car keys. Your pod machine will spend the same amount of time making K-pod coffee.
  • For the ultimate sleepers, here is a handy solution. Make a batch of cold brew coffee. In the morning, just sip it from the fridge and you are good to go.

Drinking coffee at work – you failed to get up

  • Even the most strict bosses will allow their employees the first-morning coffee. Especially if you look like a (Rob) zombie. Now, you can always bring your faithful thermos bottle or a thermos cup with you. Just don’t spike it with some spirit. People can tell.
  • Did you forget the thermos? That’s why you always need to have a bag or two of instant coffee in your business bag. If you have a bulkier bag, consider taking AeroPress2go. Yes, that exists, too.
  • Did you leave your bag at home/train/moon? Oh, my sweet summer child. Luckily, your workplace has a kitchenette or a coffee vending machine? Right? If not, seriously consider Grinds while updating your LinkedIn profile because that’s not a happy working environment.

The cup of conclusion

The world is a Venn diagram. We have coffee drinkers, we have tea drinkers, and we have a wide area of overlap. Most of the world can’t imagine starting a day without a hot, aromatic cup of coffee made from the finest beans. Nor should it.

Just a word of caution from this dentist who does the best dental implants in Chattanooga, he says to drink coffee moderately. Remember that coffee is an acidic drink that can cause issues to your dental health if consumed too often.
