CNN Anchor offers excellent advice about speaking
with Dr. Bill Lampton
Recently CNN posted an online story about nine CNN journalists who were willing to talk about their most embarrassing highly public mistakes before they climbed the broadcasting ladder to CNN status.
Brooke Baldwin used a brief video message to describe her biggest TV blooper and to draw from her calamity a lesson on how to speak. She used what she learned to advise iReporters who submit brief reports for CNN’s consideration.
1. Keep conversational
2. Refrain from spitting out everything you have memorized
3. Let the audience hear the passion in your voice.
4. Insert informed conversation where it applies.
Tip: We will reduce our red face failures dramatically when we stop memorizing and start sharing our message through a conversational one to one approach.
