Listen to host Eric Dye & guest Dr. Kristyn White Davis discuss the following:

  1. Can you please start by telling us a little bit about Colorado State University Pueblo and the RISE Program? What inspired CSU Pueblo to launch the RISE (Regional In-State Equivalent) Program, and how does this initiative directly address barriers that out-of-state students traditionally face in accessing affordable higher education?
  2. Can you share specific examples of how the RISE Program has transformed the educational journeys of students — especially first-generation or underrepresented learners — since its inception?
  3. How has the RISE Program impacted enrollment, diversity, and campus culture at CSU Pueblo, and what feedback have you heard from students and families who have benefited from the regional in-state tuition equivalent?
  4. In a competitive higher-ed landscape where affordability and access are top concerns, what lessons from the RISE Program could other institutions adopt to expand opportunity for students beyond their home states?
  5. Beyond affordability, CSU Pueblo is known for its strong academic offerings — what are some of the top-quality programs or signature academic strengths you believe attract out-of-state students because they might not find comparable options in their home states?
  6. What kind of effect do you hope to see the RISE program have on CSU Pueblo in 5 years time?
