8 Weird But Effective Grooming Hacks

It’s time to face it guys. When left to our own devices… we’re pretty gross, but with a little grooming and a bit of life ingenuity you can spruce up your appearance without dropping hard earned cash on expensive grooming products.

There are plenty of ways to hack your grooming rituals, and just because your girlfriend thinks it’s “weird” doesn’t mean it doesn’t work.

1. Don’t Wash Your Hair So Much

Believe it or not, washing your hair too much can remove essential oils, calcium and the natural minerals that keep your hair strong and silky.

Soap and the various chemicals in shampoos have a very drying effect on your scalp and hair. Washing your hair every day can leave your hair dry, frizzy and brittle.

Instead of washing your hair everyday skip a day in between and be sure to use conditioner to add some moisture back to your hair to prevent flakiness and scalp irritation.

2. Shave The Back Of Your Neck

If you’re like most men, you probably don’t make it to the barber as regularly as your haircut demands.

Shaving the back of your neck in between barber visits can extend the life of your haircut and keep your neck from looking like Teen Wolf. Simply use a hair shaver if you have one or even your multipurpose beard trimmer can do the trick.

3. Please Tweeze That Unibrow

Please pay attention to the following public service announcement for all men.

Eyebrows… there should be two. Plucking your unibrow stinks, but it’s nothing compared to what your girlfriend goes through when she gets her eyebrows waxed. Ouch.

You owe it to here to keep that unibrow tweezed. Tweezing your unibrow sharpens the lines of your face, cleans up your complexion and doesn’t draw attention away from your eyes.

4. Substitute Grooming Products

Uh oh. You got forgot your toothpaste and your shaving cream, which means your toothbrush and razor are about as useful as a fishing line without a hook.

Don’t worry about it because baking soda was initially designed to clean teeth. Dip your toothbrush in the powder and brush normally. The taste isn’t great, but it is surprisingly effective at whitening your teeth.

Clean teeth are only slightly better than a good looking beard, luckily if you forgot your shaving cream, you could use a regular old bar of soap. The process is the same. Simply lather the soap onto your face in place of the shaving cream.

Soap can easily dry out the delicate skin of your face. Be sure to moisturize after shaving to prevent irritation.

5. Visene That Pimple

Visene is designed to reduce swelling and redness in, and around the eye. Did you know that it has the same effect on swelling and redness anywhere?

Visene works wonders when applied to unsightly zit or blemish, and if you keep applying it every few hours, the zit may disappear entirely.

6. Powder Your Chowder

It’s North of the knees and South of your crack don’t forget to powder your sack.

Virtually all of the skin from your waist to your knees is extra sensitive. To keep it from chafing when you walk and move around be sure to apply talcum powder.

Baby powder works great, but products are also available that are specially designed to keep your fishing tackle from rusting… if you catch my drift.

7. Groom After Your Shower

The best time to start most male grooming rituals is after the shower.

The best time to clip your nails is right after you dry off. The hot water and steam will soften the calcium in your nails making them easier to cut.

Shaving is also made easier after a shower. Again, the hot water and steam from the shower will raise your hairs and therefore make it easier for your skin to release the hair follicle.

Shaving after a shower will also reduce redness and razor burn, as long as you’re sure to splash cold water on your face and neck when you’re done.

8. Condition Your Beard

If your beard has been extra itchy, it could be because you haven’t conditioned it. The conditioner adds back the essential oils and natural minerals that are stripped from your beard every time you touch your face.

There are actually beard conditioners out there and they work similarly like they do for your hair, except for your beard. You can even get a beard growth kit from the best digital healthcare platforms like numan. It would surely help you nurture your beard in the best possible manner. If you are a man who suffers daily from beard itchiness, this will go a long way to restore your sanity.

Men are the original life hackers. We are simple creatures, and we like our lives to be as easy and simple as possible, and the same goes for keeping yourself clean, groomed and healthy.

Improving your grooming rituals with these weird but effective grooming hacks is one way to make that happen.
