After studying electrical engineering at NYU for a year, I dropped out. I decided to start my own business and pursue my dream of owning a fashion brand. What school didn’t offer me was a chance to get my hands dirty in my field. I just didn’t see the point of taking classes that had nothing to do with my major, or having to wait a year or two before I could have relevant internships. I believe entrepreneurs make the world go ’round, because they create businesses, which create jobs, which provide money for families, and one of the children in that family may become an entrepreneur and start the cycle again.

The book that I wrote, C.E.O.- College: Extremely Overrated, expresses my thoughts on whether college is necessary for entrepreneurs, with examples from my life and
other successful college dropouts. I believe our educational system does need to be reformed. I think we need to bring back apprenticeship programs in more high schools, kids should be able to choose other paths to educating themselves rather than suggest everyone should go to college, there should be more financial preparation classes in high school so that when these kids have jobs the are able to handle their money better and stay out of debt.
