Tony Weeresinghe is a 20-year technology pioneer who built some of the world’s most sophisticated trading systems, including the current platform for the London Stock Exchange. Tony’s contrarian tendencies have borne serious fruit in the world of global finance. In 2010, his company, Millennium IT, became part of the LSE group. He then joined LSEG as their Director of Global Development, and in less than a year had successfully migrated one of the world’s largest trading platforms without missing a minute of operability.

At Millennium IT, Tony started Echannelling, the first e-commerce company in Sri Lanka. At age 26, he was the youngest country manager for Oracle, and also held positions with Sun Microsystems and Wang during the course of his career. While still CEO of Millennium IT, Tony moved to Boston in 2001 to automate the Boston Stock Exchange and later automated the American Stock Exchange ( now NYSE MKT) as well as ICAP’s trading platforms.

In late 2014, Tony and his wife Cindy began work on a pair of complementary companies – one commercial (UStocktrade) and one philanthropic (The Cainan Foundation) – with the ultimate goal of establishing self-supporting educational communities for disadvantaged children in some of the world’s neediest regions.
