Barbara Gibson of the Entrepreneur Podcast Network (EPN) talks with the Director of Marketing & Social Media at Texas A&M University Diane McDonald. Diane says that they have engaged their fans primarily through Facebook. She says that Texas A&M has a great brand and a great university and we allow the personality of Texas A&M to come through – the “AGGIE SPIRIT” with our Facebook Page. We have created a community of spirit with Facebook having lots of fun with our fans letting them know of all the happenings at Texas A&M and the response has been phenomenal. We keep it organic and with a fun tone to the page and it has been successful. She says they are also reaching out to other areas of social media such as FourSquare and just has recently launched their “College Badge Program” and are currently working on a campus scavenger hunt using FourSquare.
