Johnette van Eeden is the founder and CEO of Star Wellness.

Ms. van Eeden founded the Lone Star Wellness Institute in 2001 as a direct-to-consumer distribution network for high quality, life enhancing nutritional supplements. Her close interaction with customers, and later as a speaker and evangelist for improved personal nutrition management, allowed her to witness the devastating impact of the recession and effects of declining care and escalating health care costs on the average American family.

As a response, she launched Star Wellness, originally known as Lone Star Screening, in early 2002 followed soon thereafter by Lone Star Laboratory Services. This combination allowed her to provide a full range of confidential, convenient and affordable medical testing services on-site for major corporations and for individuals with little or no health coverage.

In the spring of 2005, services were expanded to include non-invasive screenings for Vascular Arterial Disease. Using top-of-the-line ultrasound technology, Star Wellness also performs Carotid Artery Ultrasounds, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Ultrasounds, and Ankle Brachial Index screenings.

Having created a sound and successful business model, Ms. van Eeden launched a national franchise expansion under the Star Wellness Franchising(TM) name.

Prior to forming van Eeden LLC, Ms. van Eeden spent over 15 years in the travel industry in both the transportation and hospitality sectors. As a Senior Consultant at SABRE Systems, she was responsible for the development and implementation of numerous software and service improvement applications. She has also held managerial and technical positions with American Airlines, USAir, and Holiday Inn Worldwide.

Ms. van Eeden has been honored by Women’s Enterprise Texas and Women’s Enterprise USA magazines as one of the Top Women’s Business Enterprises in both Texas and the US for rapid growth, innovation, business deals and major growth potential. She was named “Who’s Who in Healthcare” in Dallas/Fort Worth by the Dallas Business Journal and Star Wellness has been recognized as one of the top women-owned and emerging businesses for 2013 by DiversityBusiness.com.

Ms. van Eeden devotes a large amount of time to working with schools and children. She has been a volunteer for Junior Achievement and Big Brothers/Big Sisters. She was instrumental in introducing the Little Miss Kickball program to the Mid-Cities; serves on the reader panel for Family Fun magazine; and is a contributing editor for Working Mother magazine.
