Montreal’s only local-focused urban general store
Lindsay Davis is the owner and creator of Fait ici. She is also one of the few items in the store not made in Quebec.
Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia (it’s a nice place too), she fell in love with Quebec and Montreal when she moved to the city to study design. Hopelessly in love with food, Lindsay realized she had entered foodie heaven shortly after arriving in La Belle Province.
Lindsay’s other passion is the environment. Her work as a designer taught her about the need to do business in a sustainable way. It isn’t about giving things up, just about making sound choices when we consume.
Fait ici is Lindsay’s way of giving consumers a choice by being transparent with the facts. It is also the realization of her vision for local-focused, responsible consumption with a modern approach.

More than a bricks and mortar store, Fait ici is a choice. It’s a choice for health, family, community and this province. In an era where cheap, low quality products are a real threat to our health and way of life, Fait ici promises to provide you with an option that delivers on quality and sustainability. We’ve done our homework about the products on our shelves. We know who makes them, where they’re made, and how their produced. We feel that giving consumers this information is right thing to do. In a mass-produced world where many companies seem to be racing to the bottom Fait ici is an alternative.
It is also a throwback to the days when shopping was an experience. We aim to provide our clientele with a thoroughly modern twist on an old concept, the general store. Though we are very much of the 21st century our goal is to provide you with personalized service and care. Â A throwback? Perhaps. But one we feel is worth resuscitating.
