Matthew V. Pierce, PFS, CPA, President and Founder of Island Light Capital, has over 20 years of experience with some of the most innovative institutional asset managers in the country.
Mr. Pierce employs unique and patented asset allocation design and technology to develop new investment portfolios suitable for institutional usage.
In addition to consulting on asset allocation design and portfolio modeling, Mr. Pierce is responsible for implementation of the Island Light ETF portfolios.
As co-founder and partner of New Frontier Advisors, LLC, Mr. Pierce was responsible for all aspects of firm management , a member of the Investment Committee, the chief designer of the Asset Allocation Suite of institutional products offered by New Frontier and its Chief Operating and Compliance Officer. New Frontier’s investment and research is at the cutting edge of investment theory and practice.
As Senior Vice President at Acadian Asset Management, Mr. Pierce was responsible for all aspects of firm management, including business strategy, trading operations, operations technology, firm compliance and business administration. Acadian’s international and emerging markets portfolios were designed for institutions seeking expert quantitative asset management.
Mr. Pierce holds a bachelors degree from Harvard College, a certificate in financial planning from Boston University, and continuing education credits from Bentley College (accounting). He is also a CPA with Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation, and member of the AICPA and the FPA.
Mr. Pierce currently serves as Treasurer of the Keewaydin Foundation, a non-profit foundation serving youth environmental education, and of the Dover Foundation, a non-profit community theatre group in which he also performs.
