About Karolyn Raphael

With nearly twenty years of media and communications experience, Karolyn Raphael has taken clients from near-obscurity to recognition on a national level. Her work in strategy, media placements, PR training and community outreach includes leading business to business consulting firms, nationally-ranked healthcare systems, national trade associations, and non-profits. She’s created city-wide awareness campaigns and landed stand-out media placements in Chicago magazine, The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, Parenting magazine and Modern Healthcare, to name a few. Karolyn joined the firm in 1997 as an associate and was named President in 2006.

Prior to her work with Winger Marketing, Karolyn worked on advertising campaigns for GDMI with national brands including Domino’s Pizza, Sir Speedy Printing, Roto Rooter and Gingiss Formalwear. Additionally, she worked as the lead radio producer for the Indiana University News Bureau. Before delving into marketing full-time, Karolyn was a member of a notable Chicago theater company for three years and performed with the company in Chicago and in the European Theater Festival.

Awards under her leadership at Winger Marketing include the 2008 Bulldog Award for Excellence in Media Relations, the Communicator Awards, the Summit Creative Awards, The Hermes Creative Award, and more. Karolyn is an annual presenter at an Artist Boot Camp and has led PR 101 and PR 2.0 programs for International businesses and associations as well as local committees of the National Association of Women’s Business Owners. She is a graduate of Indiana University Bloomington and still loves musical theatre. She lives with her husband of 10 years, three kids, two cats, one dog and two Beta fish.
