Sarah Chalos and Ravi Jolly, both co-founders and presidents of i heart keenwah, which is a company that produces quinoa based food products joins Entrepreneurial Fit Radio.

i heart keenwah was started by four friends: fiteh, ravi, sarah, and terah. after touring bolivia and learning about the versatility of an awesome little seed called quinoa, we returned home frustrated by the lack of ready-to-eat quinoa options. we decided to do something about it and got to work in the kitchen, mixing quinoa with other all-natural ingredients to craft a crunchy, sweet treat that satisfied our cravings.

Listen to host Eric Dye & guests Sarah Chalos and Ravi Jolly discuss the following:
  • Where did the idea for I heart keenwah come from?
  • What makes your snack stand out?
  • What’s one trend that really excites you?
  • As an entrepreneur, what is the one thing you do over and over and recommend everyone else do?
  • If you were to start again, what would you do differently?
  • What one thing could you leave with our listeners that they could put into action or practice today that would help them be more healthy or FIT.

Sarah ChalosSarah Chalos is a Chicago native. It’s the city where she was raised, graduated from high school, found her first job, was married and (relatively recently) had her two baby sons. It’s also where i heart keenwah was conceived and founded. Before finding her passion there, Sarah studied engineering at MIT, worked in manufacturing and supply chain at Abbott Laboratories, and was a management consultant at Bain & Co. Sarah is a true engine behind i heart keenwah and being a working mom, maintains a real commitment to the integrity of the product’s ingredients.

Ravi JollyRavi Jolly was born and raised in rural Pennsylvania to Indian parents, Ravi is a die-hard foodie. He spent several years working in finance (Bank of America, Lazard) in New York City before cutting his teeth in the world of natural food. He teamed up with the rest of the i heart keenwah gang at the University of Chicago, and they jointly hatched the idea of i heart keenwah in 2009. Ravi and his wife live in the ethnic food epicenter of Queens, New York.
