Jeff DeBenedetti is the Director of Golf at Las Positas Golf Course and the owner of the DeBenedetti Golf Shop Inc.  Las Positas is a municipal golf course in the heart of the Livermore Valley wine country.   As the golf industry has changed so has Las Positas. It opened as a 18 hole course in 1967 and is now a 27 hole course as well as a 9 hole FootGolf course, boasting the best greens in Northern California.

Jeff has been integral in the growth of Las Positas while maintaining its integrity and core customer.  The core values of the PGA, integrity, respect, honesty, perseverance, and professionalism are evident in Jeff’s management of Las Positas.

As Jeff says ‘Golf is the only sport in which you call a penalty on yourself’.  Jeff’s core values mirror this as he trains his employees to exceed the customer’s expectations every day. “People come to a golf course to relax, to get away, to have fun, and it is our job to make sure that is accomplished’.

With a $6 million renovation completed 5 years ago, Las Positas upgraded its bunkers and greens while redesigning several holes and building a new 9 hole par 3 course which hosts FootGolf as well. FootGolf is the newest sport where the soccer ball is the golf ball and your foot is the club.  Ninety-five percent of the customers in the first six months of introducing FootGolf had never been to a golf course.  Foot Golf is bringing a new customer to golf courses and introducing them to the game.

In addition, Las Positas’s involvement in the community encompasses all ages. It has the only year-round junior golf program in Northern California catering to juniors from ages 7-17 and representing all abilities. The Junior League is a top performer, and many golfers from Jeff’s Junior golf program have gone on to receive full ride scholarships at college.

In addition, local civic groups frequent the course, and Las Positas hosts a program that teaches golf skills to mentally and developmentally disabled adults.

Las Positas is owned by the City of Livermore and is proud of the growth it has seen over the years.  As golf courses in the area are closing, Las Positas continues to be financially beneficial to the City. Livermore has 3 of the top businesses in the golf industry managing its golf course, keeping LasPo a leader in the golf industry.
