Max Valverde graduated from Brown University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Valverde had been trying to solve the issue of bed head for several years. An engineer by day, Valverde routinely showered at night as millions do and would then have to wet his hair in the sink each morning to be able to style it before going to work (or out in public). Not only was this ineffective, it made a mess of the bathroom, leaving water everywhere. He knew there had to be a better way. Valverde developed the Morninghead cap and put it on Kickstarter, a crowd-funding website, in February of 2012, setting a goal of USD$1,000 to get it off the ground. Within 30 days, however, the project not only raised the $1,000, but secured more than $6,300; and all from complete strangers feeling his same morning woes. Since then sales have steadily increased and Morninghead is now shipped worldwide.
