A financial advisor, media commentator, international speaker and author, Jonathan Citrin has established himself as the voice of mindfulness in finance.

Jonathan believes that cultivating a mindful perspective — a true and deep understanding of ourselves and the surrounding world — is the key to unlocking success in investing and life.

Jonathan has devoted his career to the relentless pursuit of this mindful perspective: researching and striving to understand the intricate interplay between the human brain and finance; becoming an expert in the fundamentals of money, markets, and our minds; and developing his own unique brand of financial theory and asset management that adheres to his “Look Within, See Beyond” philosophy.

The cornerstone of this “Look Within, See Beyond” philosophy is the notion that by practicing mindfulness and conducting research and analysis, we can:

• Expand our perspective

• Gain an understanding of the way our brains work and our deep-seated emotions and biases

• Improve our decision making process

• Foster greater objectivity and opportunity in our lives

Through this “Look Within, See Beyond” approach, Jonathan is able to deliver the power of this mindful perspective, providing real insights into our minds, our markets, and our world that can make a real difference in our lives.

Jonathan has been a financial advisor for over 15 years. He began his career managing investment accounts at Morgan Stanley and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter. In 2003, he founded his own financial advisory practice, which is based in the Metro Detroit area. Jonathan oversees the firm’s investment portfolios, manages relationships with clients, and spearheads strategic planning and business development.

A distinguished international speaker and author, Jonathan has established himself as an authority on financial markets, global economics, and behavioral finance. In his speaking and writing, he offers rich insights into global economic conditions as well as the human condition, masterfully weaving together elements of financial theory, psychology, history, the humanities, and science.

Jonathan is regularly sought out for comment and analysis on the latest financial market developments by many leading media outlets including CNBC and Forbes. His writing has appeared in numerous publications including the Wall Street Journal and Investopedia.

In 2015, he set up CitrinGroup Media, an independent publishing and public relations firm that strives to promote his core philosophy.

Jonathan also possesses extensive experience as an educator. From 2007 through 2013, he was Adjunct Faculty of Finance at Wayne State University’s School of Business, where his classes included Security Analysis, Investment Policies, Advanced Corporate Finance, and International Finance.

The underlying theme that runs through all of Jonathan’s work as a financial advisor, media commentator, speaker, educator, and author is his commitment to expanding perspective through mindfulness, research, and analysis, and delivering the power of perspective to the world through his work.

Jonathan Citrin believes that by cultivating a mindful perspective, we can improve the way we invest, think, and live.
