Sports made a major impact in Joe Behm’s life. As one of eight children, some of his first childhood memories involved playing pickup games with neighborhood kids. Joe played football and basketball for St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He then became a walk-on player at Miami University in 1985. Seeking playing time, he transferred to John Carroll University where he was an all-conference linebacker and captain, helping his team win a conference football championship.

Joe’s mission is to pass on the advice and leadership examples he received from his coaches and mentors so young students can reach higher levels of success in athletics and life. Joe says “only a small percentage of athletes will ever benefit financially from playing sports, but every athlete can benefit greatly because of their participation in sports”.

In 2013, Joe established Team of Athlete Role Models, TeamARM and began emailing Play of the Day quotes to family, friends, players, coaches, and acquaintances. These daily messages proved to be very helpful and were often forwarded to friends, teammates and colleagues. In his logo merchandise business, many of Joe’s customers and supporters are former teammates, classmates, fellow alumni, and connections made through sports related organizations.

Joe credits his mother, JoAnn, for her unconditional love and support that enabled him to pursue his athletic and business endeavors.
